Fees

  • $150.00 – payable through the online application system. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Examination Information

Applicant must have taken and passed one of the following pharmacy technician competency exams:


Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must:
    • Read and understand the Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR) pertaining to eligibility requirements. 
    • Be at least 18 years of age.
    • Be of good moral character.
    • Have a high school diploma or equivalent OR be currently enrolled in a program that awards such degree or certificate.
    • Have completed a Board-approved training program OR have completed a minimum of 500 hours of employment as a pharmacy technician trainee.
    • Have passed a pharmacy technician competency exam.
    • Hold/held a license as a pharmacy technician in another state provided that the requirements for licensure in the original state are substantially equivalent to the requirements of the Board and the license is in good standing at the time of the application.

Licensure Information

  • Applicants will be notified by email once the license is issued. The license card is attached to the email and can also be downloaded from your profile in the Health Professions Licensing Portal.
