Examination and Application Process

Step 1 -- Candidates submit an application, fees and any required supporting documentation to the New Jersey State Board of Professional Planners. The Board will determine the eligibility of all applicants. The Board will submit to PCS approximately 6 weeks prior to the next examination window a list of eligible candidates.

Step 2 -- Approximately two (2) weeks prior to the next examination window, PCS will email an Authorization-To-Test (ATT) and Instructions to Candidates to eligible candidates for the New Jersey Professional Planner's Law examination.

Step 3 -- Upon receipt of the ATT, candidates will contact PSI to schedule their testing appointment during the next examination window.
Step 4 -- Candidates take the examination at the assigned location. Failure to take the examination at your scheduled testing appointment will result in the loss of your ability to take the examination during that examination window. To schedule for a future examination window, you will be required to submit another application to the Board and pay any required fees.
Step 5 -- PCS will score the examination, verify the results and forward to the Board for disbursement to the examinees. Examinees will receive their score notices directly from the New Jersey Board in approximately 12 weeks after taking the examination. No results will be given over the telephone. Please do not call PSI, PCS or the Board for test results.
