Step 1: Mail completed application with fees to PCS
Step 2: PCS reviews application for completeness (PCS will notify applicant of any discrepancies)
Step 3: PCS sends completed applications to the Massachusetts Board for eligibility review
Step 4: Board determines eligiblity

If ineligible, Board will notify applicant directly

If eligible, Board will notify PCS
Step 5: PCS sends approval letter and exam scheduling form to applicant
Step 6: Applicant submits exam scheduling form and fee to PCS
Step 7: PCS mails admission material and instructions to applicant two weeks prior to exam
Step 8: Applicant takes the examination
PCS mails score notices to examinees within 6 to 8 weeks after exam (Note: Section F scores are released within 1 month after exam)

Successful examinees will receive a passing score notice

Unsuccessful examinees will receive a diagnostic with their score notice
Step 9: Once all parts of the exam has been successfully completed, PCS will mail a license letter to examinee with license payment information
Step 10: Examinee submits license payment to PCS by mail or calling 877-887-9727 to pay by phone
Step 11: PCS submits license information to Massachusetts Board
Step 12: Board posts license information on their website within 1 week of payment
Step 13: Board mails wallet-sized license to candidate within 6 weeks
