Graduation from a Board-approved Registered Nurse (RN) education program.
Graduates of a nursing education program whose language of instruction or textbooks, or both, was not English; or if CNATS Exam was taken in French must demonstrate English proficiency.
Good moral character as established by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (Board).
Achievement of a score as indicated on either of the following exams.
- Achievement of a passing score on the State Board Testing Pool Examination written before August 1, 1970.
- Canadian Nurses Association Testing Service (CNATS) Examination, written after August 1, 1970, with a score greater than 400 in each component of the exam.
- CNATS Comprehensive Exam written after August 1, 1980, but prior to August 1, 1995, with a score greater than 400.
- NOTE: Applicants who wrote the CNAT exam after August 1, 1995, are not eligible for reciprocity. The applicant must submit an application for RN licensure by examination.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Canada.
