FE Certification Eligibility Requirements
Applying with ABET Degree:
1. Once you have received a passing FE score, you may submit an FE EIT Certification Application and the application fee. An official final transcript sent directly from your school to PCS.
2. Once PCS receives the application and transcript, PCS will review and approve the application for certification. Your complete file will be sent to the Pennsylvania Board for EIT certification. Please allow up to 45 days to receive your EIT certificate in the mail.
Applying without an ABET Degree:
1. If you received approval prior to sitting for the FE CBT examination by submitting an FE Pre-Approval application to PCS, you will not be required to submit an FE EIT Certification application. Once PCS receives your passing score from NCEES, your complete file will be sent to the Pennsylvania Board for EIT certification. Please allow up to 45 days to receive your EIT certificate in the mail.
If you applied prior to the FE examination going Computer Based (CBT):
1. Once PCS receives your passing score from NCEES, you will receive an email notification from PCS instructing you to update your demographic information. You will not be required to submit an FE EIT Certification application.
2. If you applied based on education, PCS must receive a final transcript with your degree and conferral date directly from your college/university in order to complete the requirements for certification. Please request that your college/university send PCS a final transcript if you have not already done so:

Transcripts issued to students, transcripts sent electronically, or transcripts issued to students in a sealed envelope will not be accepted.)
3. Once PCS receives your final transcript, your complete file will be sent to the Pennsylvania Board for EIT certification. Please allow up to 45 days to receive your EIT certificate in the mail. (Please be aware you are not required to submit an FE EIT Certification application.)
