Professional Land Surveying (PS): IMPORTANT Registration Processes for the examination are below:
All applicants must be approved by the New Jersey Board. First-time applicants must contact the New Jersey Board for application information and deadlines for applications to be received. Candidates will not be eligible for the examination without first applying to and receiving approval from the Board. Once approved, please read and follow the instructions below.
Beginning June 20, 2016 the PS exam is transitioning to computer-based testing (CBT). Registration and scheduling will open on this date for the CBT PS exam, with first testing appointments available in October 2016. The new PS exam will allow for year-round testing at approved Pearson VUE test centers. This gives examinees the freedom to pick the exam time, date, and location. The new format will include a digital PS Reference Handbook. Examinees will receive their results 7–10 days after the exam. NJ STATE SPECIFIC SURVEYING (JP): IMPORTANT Registration Process for the examination are below:
Beginning June 20, 2016 the PS exam is transitioning to computer-based testing (CBT). However, the State Specific Examination will remain a paper and pencil examination and administered by PCS twice a year.
First-time State Specific Surveying candidates who have already applied to and received approval from the New Jersey Board; or board approved candidates who wish to re-schedule their exam, must contact PCS at 877.364.3926. PCS will register and schedule the candidates examination by the registration deadline. Candidates do not need to for the State Specific examination with NCEES.
