Applicants must submit all Embalming & Funeral Director examination and licensure applications, required supporting documentation and fees directly to PCS. NOTE: The National Conference Board Examination is no longer required for licensure in Massachusetts.

I want to be a Type 6 Funeral Director and Embalmer. A type 6 funeral director is a non-owner who may conduct funerals and do pre-need arrangements so long as they are affiliated with a funeral home. If you are not affiliated with a funeral home, you may only do embalming.
